Magic Varsh keeps a full history of your content and lets you optionally gate publishing behind an approval step. This works the same way across pages, portlets, page layouts, assets, web content, navigation, dynamic forms, email templates, third-party integrations and workflows.
Draft vs Published
When you edit an item it becomes a Draft. Visitors keep seeing the last Published version until you publish again — so work in progress never appears on the live site. Each item shows a status badge: Draft, Pending approval, Published or Rejected.
Viewing history and restoring a version
- Open the list for the item type (for example Pages or Assets).
- Use the History action on the row to see every past version, who changed it and when.
- Choose Restore on any version to bring its content back as a new draft, then publish when ready.
Publishing
Use the Publish action to make the current draft live. If no approval is required for that item type on your site, it goes live immediately. If approval is required, the item moves to Pending approval and a task is sent to the approver.
Requiring approval
A platform or site administrator decides which item types need approval, on the Approval Policies screen (under Governance). A policy links a component type — for a specific site or globally — to an approval workflow.
- Open Governance → Approval Policies.
- Add a policy, choose the component type (e.g. Asset or Page) and the approval workflow to run.
- Enable it. From then on, publishing that type raises an approval task instead of going live directly.
The approvals queue
Approvers use Governance → Approvals to see everything waiting on them. Each entry shows what is being published, for which site, and who requested it.
- Open Governance → Approvals (it refreshes automatically).
- Review the pending item and choose Approve or Reject.
- On approval the item goes live; on rejection it returns to the author as a draft.
